"A remembering with feeling or a remembering about feeling."
Siri Hustvedt
“No deep and strong feeling, such as we may come across here and there in the world, is unmixed with compassion. The more we love, the more the object of our love seems to be a victim.”
Boris Pasternak
Monochromatic mixed media
Monochromatic mixed media
Attachment is a monochromatic mixed media series examining the complexities of human relationships. By removing color, I expose the essence of connection and detachment, unfiltered by distraction. Inspired by Saigyo’s poem Detached, the work reflects how intimacy leads to inevitable loss—where it is not the blossoms that fall, but the one who loves them.
“Detached” observer
of blossoms finds himself in time
intimate with them–
so, when they separate from the branch,
it’s he who falls…deeply into grief.
— Saigyo

The deformed bodies
The Deformed is a collage series exploring the fragmentation of the human body as a reflection of spiritual and physical dissonance. Composed of broken and sliced body parts, these works expose the hidden tensions beneath the surface—turmoil, desire, sorrow, joy, and pain. Through distortion and reconstruction, the series challenges conventional notions of wholeness, revealing the complex and often fractured nature of human existence.
“When your eyes are tired the world is tired also. When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you. Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own. There you can be sure you are not beyond love. The dark will be your womb tonight. The night will give you a horizon further than you can see. You must learn one thing. The world was made to be free in. Give up on all other worlds except the one to which you belong. Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you. ”

Auspicious Patterns: The Art of Chinese Words
Auspicious Patterns: The Art of Chinese Words
This series transforms auspicious Chinese and Zen words into intricate patterns, weaving together tradition, philosophy, and visual harmony. Inspired by words like 自在 (freedom), 平安 (peace), 無常 (impermanence), 樂 (joy), 富貴 (prosperity), 觀 (contemplation), 榮 (honor), 淨 (purity), and 禍福相依 (fortune and misfortune coexist), these designs embody the fluid interplay between fate, mindfulness, and the human experience. Through repetition and abstraction, the patterns evoke both meditative stillness and the dynamic nature of existence, inviting viewers to reflect on the deeper meanings embedded in language and form.

The vastness around the solitudes
“Your burden is heavy, and yet you continue to pursue a path that leads to even more darkness.”
Hanh Nhat. Old Path, White clouds
